Anne Heaton and Rose Cousins are solo artists who tour extensively, independent of each other, and are also very good friends. We thought they might like to do a show together! They agreed!

About Anne Heaton...
Anne Heaton is an American jazz & pop -influenced folk singer/songwriter and pianist. She grew up in the Chicago suburb of Wilmette, majored in liberal studies at the University of Notre Dame, lived in NYC for a while and currently lives in Somerville, Mass.
Anne is known for the infectious joy she exhibits singing and playing piano live. She has performed with major label recording artist Jewel and independent artists such as Melissa Ferrick, HEM, Jill Sobule and Jonatha Brooke. Her musical influences are varied: Peter Gabriel, Indigo Girls, Sinead O'Connor, 10,000 Maniacs, and the Rolling Stones to name only a few. Her songs have been described as "alternately lush, sweet, funny and sorrowful with soaring melodies."
This performance marks Anne's third visit to the Watchung Arts Center. She is one of our favorites. But don't just take our word for it, read what the press has said about her.....
Anne Heaton is "more of a storyteller than Norah Jones and definitely in the same category as far as talent and vocal range."
~ Live Review, Newpapertaxi.com
Anne Heaton's latest release GIVE IN has "a pop sensibility with an affinity for strong harmonies and hook-laden arrangements."
~ The Boston Globe
"[Anne Heaton] is a keen observer of human nature with an uncanny ability to succinctly and unpretentiously say what she has to say."
~ Cincinnati CityBeat

About Rose Cousins...
Rose Cousins was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. She began her music career by performing house concerts in every state and province, quietly amassing an intricately woven array of friends and colleagues. Sharing stages with those she admired, she has a rich artistic community around her.
Drawing on influences from traditions of folk, bluegrass, pop and Appalachian music, the highly anticipated full-length release by Rose Cousins promises to earn her the widespread acclaim that she deserves.
With a keen eye for observation, and a genuine sense of wonder, Rose weaves together imagery borrowed from her upbringing on a farm, with a strong wealth of wisdom. At times joyful, at times sorrowful, her new release, If You Were For Me, expressly captures the plight of the lonely heart, on a profound journey. Delivered with a pure and unaffected voice, the listener can’t help but be drawn in to her expertly crafted songs, emotionally intelligent lyrics and simple and infectious melodies. Her two previous independent releases (Only So Long 2002, Miles to Go 2003) earned Cousins a reputation as one the most promising singer/songwriters in Halifax, as well as a solid footing in the New England folk circuit. Blessed with a natural wit and charm, Rose’s live performances are the perfect counterpart to the honest beauty of her songs: she will have the audience barreled over with laughter one minute, and reaching for a tissue the next. As the Boston Globe writes, “It's no wonder Cousins is the object of audience affection....” She has had the good fortune to share stages with some very prominent artists on both sides of the border, including Canadian greats David Francey, Lynn Miles, Joel Plaskett, Bob Snider, Emm Gryner & Valdy and U.S. friends John Gorka, Darrell Scott, Edie Carey, Rose Polenzani, Meg Hutchinson, Mark Erelli, & The Weepies.

Coffee With Conscience Concert Series
Ahrre Maros is the owner of Ahrre's Coffee Roastery in Westfield & the Fair Trade Coffee Company on line. He has been presenting live musical events since 1992, when he first opened the Common Ground Cafe in Summit. The Cafe is gone now, but Ahrre continues bringing Professional Touring Musical Artists to the area for the benefit of the local community and several local Charities.
Currently, Ahrre presents the Coffee With Conscience Concert Series in Westfield, which is a Seven-show Series which acts as a fund-raiser—raising much needed funds for worthy causes—while providing the participants with the opportunity to attend quality performance events near their homes, providing an audience with a cultural experience, providing artists with a venue to display their talents, and generally strengthening the local community by bringing a group of people together for an evening of music in a comfortable setting.
